Description
Please join the LA Chapter for an interactive meeting. During the first hour the topic discussion will be the Employee Retention Credit Program. This tax credit program is designed to help eligible employers cope with financial challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Some key points that will be discussed are: ERC Overview, Eligible Employers, Eligibility Criteria, Qualified Wages, and more.
During the second hour the topic focus will be on Digital Day by IRS Online Services. Some key points that will be covered are: Added “authorization” feature to individual Online Accounts, Launched Tax Pro Account on IRS.gov to allow tax professionals to initiate online POA or TIA requests and more.
Learning Objectives
1) Explanation of the Expansion of Tax payer option for 3rd party authorization launched in summer of 2021.
2) Learn how to create the Tax Pro account.
3) Learn special rules for recovery startup business.
4) Learn special rules for severely financially distressed employers.
5) Identify warning signs to watch out for in regards to ERC schemes.
