Description
The series will show how to correctly report sales of stocks and mutual funds with necessary adjustments, distinguish different types of dividends, non-dividend distributions, and payments in lieu.
The series will also show how to calculate interest for the investment interest deduction using tracing rules. The attendee will understand the reporting of worthless stock and be able to explain the difference between a trader and an investor and the tax advantages accruing to each. The webinar will analyze the tax basis of investment assets that are purchased, gifted, inherited, received in divorce and explain the tax treatment of bonds purchased at par, at a premium or at a discount, as well as original issue discount bonds.
Learning Objectives
