Description
Most people do not think about taxes until after the year ends and it is time to prepare their tax return. They are surprised with the result and frustrated because so much of their money is going to taxes. Because of this reactive approach, tax deductions like business travel, mileage, business use of home, retirement contributions, charitable contributions, or entity structure are overlooked. In this course we will discuss how to go from a tax preparer to an advisor that your client can work with throughout the year to minimize their tax bill and keep more of their hard-earned income in their pockets. .
Learning Objectives
1) Identify deductions that can be taken to save on taxes and the importance of tracking throughout the year
2) Recognize the value of working with clients throughout the year and having tax planning meetings.
3) Develop strategies to go from tax preparer to tax advisor.
4) Understand the value of staying apprised of changes in the tax laws and tax strategies
